Advantages

01

Production speed up to 119 m²/h

H3220GN is an industrial UV flatbed platform for direct printing on rigid materials. In the 6xKCMY configuration, it reaches up to 119 m²/h in Draft mode and up to 93 m²/h in Production mode. In the 4xKCMY configuration, it reaches up to 84 m²/h in Draft mode and up to 64 m²/h in Production mode. For sign production and interior applications, this means faster output of panels, POS materials, displays, decorative elements and rigid substrates without printing film first and mounting it manually onto a board.

02

3200 x 2050 mm flatbed size for large rigid sheets

The 3200 x 2050 mm print area allows direct printing on large acrylic sheets, PVC boards, composite panels, foam board, wood, glass and other rigid materials. This format enables: direct printing on large-format sheets; seamless interior panels; oversized retail and POS elements; printing on doors, decorative boards and sheet materials; less manual labour compared with vinyl mounting; fewer bubbles, alignment errors and finishing defects.

03

Ricoh Gen6 industrial printheads

H3220GN uses 4 to 18 Ricoh Gen6 printheads. This is an industrial printhead platform for UV applications, designed for production workloads and stable jetting on rigid materials. Drop-on-Demand Piezo with Variable Dot technology supports clean images, smooth transitions, solid fills and fine detail.

04

Media thickness up to 100 mm

H3220GN supports media thickness up to 100 mm. This expands production beyond thin sheets: thick panels, pre-cut blanks, decorative objects, signage plaques and rigid products can be printed directly.

05

White ink, varnish and premium transparent-material printing

White and varnish support make the printer suitable for transparent acrylic, glass, coloured surfaces and dark materials. White can be used as an underbase for strong colour density, while varnish can create gloss accents and premium finishing effects.

06

Negative pressure and white ink recirculation

The Gntek negative pressure system, combined with white ink recirculation and stirring, helps maintain stable UV ink flow. This is especially important for white UV ink, where heavier pigments need movement to reduce settling and inconsistent output.

07

Precision mechanics for rigid media

Linear motor, metal encoder, dual linear guides, vacuum table, six-zone platen with alignment pins and independent gantry drive contribute to accurate positioning. This matters for flatbed UV printing, especially when printing white, varnish, multi-layer graphics and repeat-position jobs.

08

Water-cooled LED UV curing

Two water-cooled LED UV lamps provide fast curing and stable performance in industrial operation. LED UV also helps reduce heat stress on many substrates compared with traditional UV curing systems.

FAQ

Which printheads does H3220GN use, and why are Ricoh Gen6 important for UV flatbed printing?

H3220GN uses 4–18 Ricoh Gen6 printheads, depending on configuration. These are industrial printheads for UV printing on rigid materials. This is especially important for a UV flatbed printer, because printing is not done on a standard roll, but on many different substrates: acrylic, PVC, glass, metal, wood, composite, ceramic and finished objects. The advantage of Ricoh Gen6 is stable operation with UV ink, industrial reliability, small droplet capability and good detail. In flatbed printing, printheads are only one part of the result. The vacuum table, correct print height, adhesion testing, primer for difficult materials and proper surface preparation are also important.

What materials can H3220GN print on, and what must be considered?

H3220GN can print on acrylic, PVC board, foam board, aluminium, metal, glass, ceramic, wood, MDF, leather and other suitable rigid materials. However, in UV flatbed printing, listing materials is not enough. Each material should be tested for adhesion, scratch resistance, moisture, cleaning and real usage conditions. Glass, metal, some types of acrylic and painted surfaces may require primer. For large sheets, the vacuum table is important to keep the material stable during printing. For finished objects, height, flatness, head collision risk and correct fixation must be checked.

What does media thickness up to 100 mm mean?

Media thickness up to 100 mm means the printer can work not only with sheet materials, but also with some finished products, thicker objects and panels. This expands production possibilities: signs, interior panels, promotional products, decorative elements, packaging, wood, acrylic blocks and other objects. However, thickness is not the only factor. The surface must be reasonably flat, the object must be fixed securely and the print height must be set correctly. For non-standard objects, a test is recommended before serial production.

Why should printers not be compared only by maximum speed?

Maximum speed is usually specified for fast modes and does not always represent daily production conditions. In real work, speed depends on pass count, resolution, media, ink, ICC profile, drying/curing and the customer’s quality requirements. For sign production, stable production-mode speed is more important than maximum speed alone. Sometimes a slower mode gives visibly better quality, especially for indoor graphics, wallpaper, small text and images viewed from a short distance.

Why are ICC profiles important in sign printing?

An ICC profile connects the printer, ink, media and print mode. Without a correct profile, the same artwork can look different on vinyl, banner, backlit, PET or indoor media. Colours may shift, grey may become tinted and dark areas may lose detail. For professional printing, profiles should be built for the customer’s real materials. This is especially important for brand advertising, photo studios, interior projects and customers where deviation from corporate colour is not acceptable.

Are installation, commissioning and training included?

Yes. Installation, commissioning and operator training are free of charge. The equipment comes with a 1-year warranty that includes a service package. We provide service and consumables in Chișinău to keep production downtime to a minimum.

Do you create ICC colour profiles?

Yes, ICC colour profiles are included free of charge. We build them individually for your media, inks and jobs so that printed colour matches your artwork precisely.

Which consumables are needed and are they in stock?

The main consumables are inks, cleaning fluids, wiping/capping parts, filters and spare printheads. We keep key items in stock in Chișinău, so replacement and maintenance are fast.
